Komiaki

Komiaki

The picturesque village of Komiaki is built at an altitude of 700 meters of Mount Koronos. The village is not visible from the coastal areas. The surrounding hillsides are fertile, overgrown by trees, oaks, olive and fruit trees.

It is worth to visit the village because of the ancient vaulted Mycenaean tomb, which has a diameter of 3.40 m and a height of 2.60m. This is a solid proof that it belonged to a King of that era.

In the villages center visitors will encounter the late Byzantine church Theoskepasti, whose initial phase is probably the middle Byzantine period.A little further, the existence of a Frankish castle indicates the growth in the region of strong feudal structures during the Frankish period.
