Kerami

Kerami

The Kerami village is located in the basin of Tragaia, halfway from Chalki to Filoti. It is a village that seems like a fairytale. Narrow streets, white houses, lush gardens, traditional backstreets and a unique view on the valley full of olive trees. The development of the village in recent years is quite large, a sample of effort and stubbornness of its residents.

A key contributor to the touristic development of the village is also the Markopoliti’s tower, a traditional Venetian tower which attracts the eye of the visitor and sends him back to the depths of the Naxos history. The tower has now been converted into a modern museum with precious creations inside.

Apart from the tower, other attractions are the well saved and preserved Byzantine churches of Agioi (St.) Apostoloi and Agios (St.) Ioannis. Taxiarhis, the parish of the village, also waits to be admired and thus to feel closer to the Divine. After a long walk through the village, traditional taverns and cafes await guests for a delicious and fragrant break, field feast of flavors.
